Running in Circles

That's exactly what I did yesterday. I ran an out and back route. I these are my favorite kind of run. When it's a new run, I like knowing when I'm close to being back.

I have medium length hair. When I run, I tie my hair in a ponytail and usually have a band to hold my hair back. Whenever I run, my ponytail makes this funny silhouette. Up and down, that's what it does. It's not annoying or anything. It's stays out of my face and in the ponytail.

Women (and men with longer hair), how do you wear your hair while running? Does it bounce like mine?

I'm taking next week off, but I'll be back and show you pictures from the party. I'll stay up to date, reading your blogs and commenting. Keep the posts coming!

The Perfect Workout

This was my passenger in my car last night. Great company and ready to relax.

In class, I've noticed that I'm the only one that has an orange mat.

Yoga was just I needed. I started the night by working my legs with some heavy weights. I like doing this because I really ware out my legs and then they get super stretched out in yoga. The perfect workout!

What color mat do you have?

Yoganess

My legs got a hard workout last night. Ripped kicked my booty. I only had time for 4 miles before the class started, but they were a glorious 4 miles!

This is all I wanted to do when I got home. Just lay around  time, and stare off in space.

Day dreaming is one of my favorite pass times to do. It's a fun experience, and I love it. I often have weird day dreams, though. Most of the time, bad things happen in them. Things like someone breaking into the house, or someone getting murdered. I guess, I have a sick mind, or maybe I just watch too many horror movies.

Tonight, Im going to get all of my yoganess out. I can't wait! I really need this class tonight!

How do you relax and let the stress out? Running, and yoga are my main ways this happens for me. But, there are so many more things I do.

A Little This & That

I was able to do a little relaxing & errands this weekend. Since it's been a little cooler at night, I've been having some warm chair tea with my homemade snickerdoodles. Yum! I love cinnamon and I can't wait until fall when I can make the house smell like it all day long!

When I was making the snickerdoodles, I didn't know that they would expand so much. When I pulled them out of the oven, I entire cookie sheets were completely filled with one big cookie. I had to cut them apart.

When I got home from work on Friday, I had a package waiting for me. Premier Protein sent me some goodies that I can't wait to try out!

We had some family friends over this weekend (to them some progress on the house). They brought Jason a birthday present. Beers from around the world. He can't wait to try them out!

This weekend, I did some things to get ready for Jason's party in a couple of weeks. I personalized a few cases of water for him.

I'm going to have a hard workout week. Since I'm taking next week off of the gym (I'm going to be super busy getting things ready for the party), I'm going to push myself very hard this week. It all starts tonight with ripped class and a 5k (I'll probably try to push it to 4-5 miles).

How do you push yourself?

Are Longer Runs Actually Shorter?

Instead of spin class, I ditched it for an outside run. I've been running 5k's lately and I really felt like I really need to run longer. I need more sweat and hard work. My body wanted all that salty sweat in my eyes. I needed to push myself harder than I have in a while. This was my longest run in a very long time (remember that I'm not in hard core training right now).

It was such a great run, I loved every minute!! I felt like I earned every drop of sweat. The thing is that the 6 miles went by in a flash. Whenever I run my 5k, after work, it seems to take forever! I loved that the 6 miles went by so fast. I think the longer a person runs, the shorter it actually is. Don't you just love my red face that comes along with my hard work, and very salty sweat?

When I got home, I relaxed. And, when I say relaxed, I mean playing with the kittens (they're actually 2 years old, but I still call them kittens). Recently, I brought home a huge tube from work (it's about 5 feet tall) and they love playing with their play mice inside. So cute!

Do you think the longer you run, the less time it feels you were out?

Before vs. After

Let me know which looks better...

Before

or After

This is what we've been working so hard on all week. We finally finished our rock wall and are enjoying it very much!!

I think my favorite plant in there is the jasmine. It just relaxes me every time I smell it.

It's just like the yoga class I take on Tuesdays (and I took last night). Every time I walked into class, it just calms me so much. Jasmine and yoga...best relaxing medicine ever!! It would be nice to see how it is after a yoga class and while you're finishing up, you put a towel spritzed with jasmine spray. I had an instructor that sprayed her towels (that you lay over your eyes while you're laying down) with lavender. It was nice too, but I prefer jasmine.

What smells do you prefer? Which looks better, before or after?

You Know It's Love...

You know it's love when your husband tries to help out around the house. One of the things he does for you (while you're gone) is clean you hand held. I had never cleaned it (I've had it over two years) and he got all the gross hand marks around the pocket area and the chapstick goobers off the top.

I'm a lucky girl! It's so clean now!

Tonight, I get to go to ripped class (I haven't been to that class in a couple of weeks). I've been mia all over the place. It's been such a crazy week at work and even crazier at home. I am a graphic designer and I design a lot of soccer team's logos for their banners, shirts, etc. And, right now, it's the beginning of youth soccer season. I love every minute of it, but man I can't wait to get back to "normal"!

Now, things have calmed down, so I should be able to workout more and blog more.
I've missed the gym so much (and, of course, you guys)!!!

How does your loved ones show their love for you (it could be you mom, son, girlfriend, cousin, anyone)?
